Force Units

Loadcells are force measuring devices and we define their operating ranges in force units. The primary unit used on this website is the SI unit for force the Newton. Multiples and sub-multiples are used as appropriate. Where practical approximate conversions are given in gf, kgf or tonnef. These are contained in brackets.

Some exact units conversions:
1 gram-force (gf) = 9.80665 milli-Newton (mN)
1 kilogram-force (kgf) = 9.80665 Newton
1 tonne-force (tonnef) = 9.80665 kilo-Newton (kN)
